Application for export registration - Form 1A (original)
Signed by the director. If there is an authorized signatory, it must be reflected in the Memorandum of Association.
Application for export licence - Form 1B (original)
Filled by the applicant.
Packhouse inspection report (copy)
Farm inspection report (copy)
Certificate of incorporation (copy)
For local companies.
Certificate of compliance (copy)
For a branch of a foreign company.
Company PIN certificate (copy)
Valid business permit (copy)
Identity card (copy)
Of the directors if they are Kenyan citizens.
Valid work permit (copy)
Of the directors if they are foreigners.
For exporters buying produce from a farmer
PS II form (copy)
If the exporter is purchasing produce from a grower, then a contract must be witnessed by a HCD officer. It can be authenticated during the farm inspection or the packhouse inspection or upon request.

The applicant must call HCD to track their application which must be approved by the AFA Board. The Board usually meets once a week or after every two weeks depending on the number of applications. The KEBS Standards on Horticultural Products (KS 1758:2004) is not a public document but can be purchased from the government press.
