What are the requirements?

Certificate of compliance and certificate of registration of local fishing vessel application form
Filled by the applicant.

Certificate of sea worthiness (copy)
Issued by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA).
3.
Certificate of Kenya Registry (copy)
Issued by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA).
4.
Business plan (copy)
Detailing the processor's fishing plan.
5.
Crew list (copy)
Listing all crew members including their rank and nationality.

Information
The processor will also be required to provide details on the engines horse power to ensure that it will not be an environmental hazard and cause damage to aquatic life.
Approval for the fish processing licence is done by the Director General, Kenya Fisheries Service for issuance by the County Director of Fisheries. The Principal Secretary (PS) Fisheries, chairs the competent authority standing committee for approval of issuance of the certificate of compliance, and this process can take up to twenty-one (21) days.
