Additional information

The clearing agent is required to indicate the verified gross mass (VGM) application number of the weighing company. The cargo should be delivered within the opening and closing of the yard. This is usually 7 days before the expected time of arrival (ETA) of the vessel. Containers that arrive beyond the closing of the yard will be subject to approval by the shipping line and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), who will also impose a late acceptance/ documentation fee of USD 100 per container. The clearing agent is given fourteen (14) days for the nomination process before storage charges begin to accrue. For coffee, containers are allowed to the Port under the declaration of a dummy vessel as the clearing agent awaits arrival of the vessel at the Port.
