The East African Community Customs Management ACT, section 18, outlines the guidelines on the exportation and importation of prohibited and restricted goods. Prohibited goods refers to the goods where the importation, exportation or carriage is banned. Restricted goods are the goods where the importation, exportation, transfer or carriage is controlled under the provisions of the customs laws or regulations; release of such goods is subject to approval by the competent authority.
