Of the staff; they are expected to have a background and knowledge on seeds.

Physical presence
Of the owner or technical personal of the seed store.
Additionally, for production category
1.
Contract (copy)
Evidence of contractual agreements with the recruited growers.

Title deed (copy)
Adequate land and equipment to handle the basic seeds. The applicant should also provide the source of starter or basic seed used.

Lease agreement (copy)
For leased land.
Adequate land and equipment to handle the basic seeds. The applicant should also provide the source of starter or basic seed used.
Additionally, for processing category
1.
Machinery and equipment
For processing seeds.
Additionally, for marketing category
1.
Seed store
Facility where the seeds will be stored should be a permanent structure with pallets, well aerated and free from rodents.
2.
List of distributors (copy)
The time taken to inspect the premises depends on the size of the facility and number of inspectors available, and can take up to a full working day.

Once inspection is complete, applicant is informed of approval/rejection. A recommendation for approval is given to compliant applicants, in case of non conformities, re-inspection will be carried out.
