What documents do I need to bring?

For both locally manufactured and imported veterinary medicines

Technical dossier
The technical dossier should be submitted in both hard and soft copy.

Valid good manufacturing practice (GMP) licence (copy)
Of the manufacturing site.
Applications submitted without a valid GMP certificate will be subject to an inspection fee of USD 1000 for locally manufactured products or USD 4000 for products manufactured outside Kenya.

Product samples
6 samples of the product.
Additionally, for imported veterinary medicines
1. 01 - Libre deuda de patente
Contract (copy)
Between the manufacturer and a local technical representative. All veterinary medicines manufacturers outside Kenya must appoint a local technical representative.

Time frame

The time allocated will depend on the number of products and dossiers submitted for screening.
Waiting time in queue: Max.  40mn
Attention at counter: Min.   10mn - Max.   40mn

Additional information

Application for market authorization within EAC can also be made via the EAC mutual recognition guidelines, to access the application form click here. Payments for the licence will be made as per each country's regulations. However, inspection is only carried out by one country and this will suffice for the EAC countries.
