For motor vehicles originating from countries with KEBS appointed partners will be subject to destination inspection which attracts a fee of 20% of the customs value of the consignment.
For motor vehicles originating from countries without KEBS appointed partners will attract a minimum fee of USD 265 or 0.6% of the customs value, whichever is higher, to facilitate the issuance of a local certificate of compliance. In such cases, KEBS will issue a demand note.
